All Abilities Mackay and our Summer House project is a Non-Profit Organisation that is looking for motivated and pro-active Voluntary Members to make up our Steering Committee to assist with the support, guidance and oversight of programs to run within the centre. This committee does not form part of the Executive Committee for All Abilities Mackay, and has no voting capacity for the overall running of the charity, however, the Steering Committee has a key role in influencing and informing what happens at the centre on an ongoing basis.
What is the role of a Steering Committee?
The Steering Committee’s role is to provide advice, ensure delivery of the project outputs and the achievement of project outcomes.
This may include such tasks as:
Providing input to the development of the project, including the evaluation strategy;
Providing advice on the budget;
Defining and helping to achieve the project outcomes;
Identifying the priorities in the project – where the most energy should be directed;
Identifying potential risks;
Monitoring the quality of the project as it develops;
Providing advice (and sometimes making decisions) about changes to the project as it develops.
We are particularly interested in seeking applications from those with Early Childhood, Disability or role specific backgrounds to fulfill the following positions: Chairperson, Marketing Manager, Media/Press Liaison, Grants Officer, Fundraising Co-ordinator as well as general positions.
